The time has never been better to lay that new lawn, or relay a tired worn out one. Turf can be ordered at most times of year, and now with the warm temperatures it is perfect to get the lawn established before the onset of winter.

Preparation is the key to a successful lawn, the area should have a depth of soil around 15cm, this needs to be free of large stones, so any stones over 10mm should be removed to allow for good drainage. The depth of soil can be made up of 7-10cm of our SANDY LOAM and capped with 7-10cm of our QUALITY TOP SOIL. If replacing a lawn ensure the compacted soil is reinvigorated with the introduction of our 10mm COMPOST, this will improve structure, drainage and nutrient levels, these will be released in a slow way and will help the lawn over the first year. The soil is in place and has been dug, the next stage is to ensure the soil is firm and level so check by walking across the area ensuring there are no holes or air pockets beneath the surface as these would cause an uneven lawn in time. Lastly  add some fertiliser to the top 5cm and ensure a good distribution as advised, and finish  by raking to achieve a fine tilth and a level surface. Once the area has been measured accurately it is time to order the OLUS REGAL TURF, making sure that you order sufficient for the job add 5% to ensure you have enough.
