The 2012 Olympic Legacy

The 2012 Olympic Legacy

Posted Aug 17, 2012 by: Phil Lane

The 16 days of the Olympics with the best performers in the world has been nothing short of inspiring and captivating. Most people with very few exceptions have been talking about the performances of the athletes combined with the feel good factor that we have felt, due to the perfect organising and planning of the venues and events, with the superb coverage by the BBC. We also were humbled by the work of the forces, games makers, and officials from Seb Coe downwards who put the games and the UK on top of the world stage. The opening and closing ceremonies were magic, ordinary children and adults giving a performance worthy of the global stage.

The memories will be with us for ever, the
Olympics 2012 in the UK. The lasting legacy of these events is the inspiration they have given to the young, in all the sporting areas, combined with the area of London that was regenerated out of the brown field site, made safe and will be lived in and enjoyed for generations.

This week many of us have the blues as there is no competition, sport, world records, Olympic records or coverage of the many sports that were shown, I also have had to get back to normality and look at the garden. Whilst I have kept the grass and edges cut, I am amazed at the amount of growth my borders have put on as well as the lawn over the last two and a half weeks. Trimming, shaping, weeding, tying and pruning all need to be carried out to maintain a good looking border.

Roses enhance with 10mm Olus compost
I agree It has been a very poor year for roses they have hated the wet weather, the blooms have taken a real hit, I have dead headed about five weeks ago and they have re bloomed and need dead heading again to encourage more wonderful  scented blooms for later.
Remember the very wet summer will have diluted many of the nutrients and minerals and would have moved them on, to enhance your beds and borders a mulch of our 10mm Compost will return them, whilst releasing its nitrogen in a controlled way.

Why not take advantage of our special offer, buy any bulk bag before September and we will throw in 2 free 40 litre bags of Easi-Grow compost.
