The clocks have gone back and like everyone else we enjoyed the weekend and completed a number of chores. Coming into work on Monday we felt we had achieved things, now it is dark when we get home only indoor jobs can be tackled. Where have the lighter evenings gone? It cannot possibly be 7 weeks until Christmas, can it?

 

At Olus the week has been very productive everyone has been working flat out. The volume of green waste entering our site has shown a substantial increase over last week. This we expected due to the autumn clear up of our gardens, maybe the final cut of the lawn, pruning of shrubs combined with the fallen leaves. The Landscape gardeners have also been busy, we have welcomed many more this week to our site, the weather has been kinder to them this week, making up for earlier in the season. In the yard the shredder has been working flat out at times, along with the screener. Deliveries have been leaving the yard in Sussex at a pace, COMPOST, LOGS, TOP SOIL, BARK and WOODLAND MULCH. Our trailer loads of compost that we deliver have continued non stop throughout the week such a major part of our operation.

 

 

A great deal of effort has taken place by many, to ensure that our new Trade Wood Recycling Facility will be up and running for the coming week. The co-owners here at Olus have been working day and night, and at last they have seen their years of planning become a reality. The Team here at Olus feel proud alongside Nick and Dave.

 

Our Team at Heritage Conservation have been leading the way this week, they have processed thousands of LOGS and these have been NETTED, CRATED, STORED and DELIVERED. The planning, effort, and physical stamina combined with great customer service, has been an inspiration to us all well done Della.
