Olus Environmental is pleased to add a 9th JCB to our fleet. Our Biomass site in West Sussex processes Waste Wood from Household Recycle Sites,Building Contractors and the Timber Constructions Industry.

A once in a lifetime chance and this was pointed out by Nick Hawthorne & Dave Ansell, much to my pleasure I took up the opportunity as this was the dress rehearsal for the Opening ceremony where we welcome the athletes from around the world.
 
 Here at Olus we take great pride in our business and with due diligence we have surpassed and thereby achieved the BSI PAS100 industry standard for compost from green waste and we are proud of this.

The first site tour of the Spring is always a good sign, as we have a break from school tours over the Winter. I know that once we re- start tours hopefully, the weather should be making a turn for the better (although this year was certainly not the case!)

Olus are delighted to be nominated for a Local Partnership Award, between Olus, WSCC and HDC. This is a prestigious award from the AfOR ( Association for Organics Recycling ) and we have been nominated in to the final three.

Each year in the UK, around 2.5million cubic meters of peat are sold to commercial and amateur gardeners in Great Britain, damaging or destroying over 94% of peat bogs. Most of this damage has occurred in the last 50 years, since the large-scale use of Peat in the horticultural industry. This post describes how green waste recycling can help preserve the peat bogs.
