And the beat goes on...

For those of you who prepared themselves, you can sit comfortably in the knowledge that spring will eventually arrive. For those who have yet to, the weather has been fortunate to you for you have not had to rush to get the compost and mulch in as soon as the weather turned palatable. There is still time to get the nutritious blanket down before winter finally lets up though.

We’re always ready and raring to go, with stockpiles ready but dwindling slightly with the prolonged wintry exposure. Hungry for fresh green waste, we welcome each and every delivery that comes in.

Whilst here in the south we may joke and complain about how everything seems to come to a standstill because of a few sprinklings of snow, the north of the United Kingdom has not been so fortunate. With farmers’ livestock being devastated in some cases by the deep and unrelenting snows, it’s difficult not to feel for them during this hard time.

The lucky gardens and allotments will have been able to brave much of the savage chill due to their generous coverings of rich compost and resistant mulch. These help to protect the soil and the roots of plants from the prolonged harsh temperatures.

Rest assured that whilst it may be cold, our composting process is uninhibited. We frequently turn the compost so that the entirety gets the opportunity to experience the high temperatures that it naturally creates in the interior. This is what kills any seeds or weeds that may still lurk within the mixture that would spoil it and make it less than useless.

Our East Sussex based facilities near Henfield, means we are able to deliver compost, topsoil, mulch and other garden and landscaping materials free of charge to a 20km radius, including Brighton & Hove.
